Response

A

The 2023 costs in relation to the planned St John's Road trial are detailed below.

  • 2023 non staff costs £40,678
  • 2023 Infrastructure and Environment staff costs £51,945

It should be noted that all internal work has been undertaken by existing Infrastructure and Environment (I&E) staff and no additional officers were employed specifically to work on this project.  Therefore, the cost of these staff forms part of I&E’s staff budgets.

The recording of staff costs is particular to some sections within I&E, tracking sunk costs within the overall expenditure is not typical across government for business-as-usual projects costing purposes.

(i)

All of the costs were accumulated within the Transport Section within I&E.

(ii)

All of the costs shown above were accrued by the Transport Section within I&E.

B
