In the 2018 Statistics 51% of land was registered as Agricultural please could you give me the breakdown for 2023 or at least 2022.

Agricultural land in 2018:

  • agricultural land covered 5,895 hectares (32,748 vergĂ©es), which is 51% of the Island’s area (64,612 vergĂ©es)
  • agricultural land decreased by 100 hectares (553 vergĂ©es) compared with 2017
  • the area of Jersey Royal potatoes decreased by 86 hectares (478 vergĂ©es)
  • other potatoes (including autumn earlies and maincrop) decreased by 3 hectares (14 vergĂ©es)
  • the total area of outdoor fruit and vegetables saw a 4% decrease, of 114 hectares (633 vergĂ©es)
  • area of organic fruit and vegetable production increased by 39% to 52 hectares (289 vergĂ©es)

Agricultural land covered 4,561 hectares (25,359 vergĂ©es), which is 39% of the Island’s area (64,612 vergĂ©es). 

  • 1,472 vergĂ©es (264.7 ha) organic land
  • 13,212 vergĂ©es (2,376.3 ha) cover crops
  • 580 vergĂ©es (104.3 ha) local market crops​
