Please provide details of training given to the current members of the Planning Applications Committee, including providing copies of any course material setting out what topics were covered, who provided the training, who attended and the duration of the sessions. thank you.

Response

Two training sessions have been held in 2024 regarding the planning committee.

The first session was held on 15 February 2024 at 9am to 11.45am, in person and online, and was open to all existing members of the Planning Committee, the Minister and Assistant Minister for the Environment as well as the Minister for Health. 

At the request of the Chair of the Planning Committee, the invitation to attend was also extended to those members to be nominated to join the Planning Committee by the Chair.

The following parties were in attendance, whether in person or online:

  • Deputy Steve Ahier
  • Deputy Andy Howell

The training comprised three parts, covering matters related to planning applications and planning appeals, as set out in the attached documents.

The second session was held on 8 March 2024 at 3pm to 4.45pm, in person and online, and was open to all existing and new members of the Planning Committee.
