Please provide statistics for the following:-

New psychosis and related disorders diagnoses over the last five years.

B

Number of patients with a diagnosis of psychosis.

C

Prescribing patterns of patients with a diagnosis of psychosis.

The requested information is not held in a central record. Whilst details of diagnoses will be documented within individual patient records, manual analysis of individual case notes would be required to identify all those in scope, with significant interrogation required to establish date of first presentation / diagnosis in each case. It is estimated that manual examination of records available to ascertain diagnosis data would exceed the timescales prescribed in the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014. Therefore, Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Information is not available on prescribing patterns for psychosis. As outlined above, no central record is held to identify cases in scope and prescriptions dispensed do not detail indication for treatment. A Scheduled Public Authority is not required to create new datasets in order to respond to Freedom of Information requests, and Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Article 3 - Meaning of “information held by a public authority”

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –

(a)     it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or

(b)     it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.

Article 16 - A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive

(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations.​
