Please also confirm the annual cost of cardiac patients in the General Hospital in Jersey.

Response

2023 costs for cardiac patients requiring care or treatment at Oxford John Radcliffe Hospital and / or Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (‘Oxford Hospital’) total £2,694,654.69, inclusive of all treatment and any accommodation, travel or sundry expenses covered.

As explained in a Freedom of Information response published to www.gov.je in November 2022, the cost of medical transfer flights is calculated using the average flight cost from the total overall charter flight service, and is not specific to flights for patient transfers to Oxford Hospital.
