Response

A

The new careers site (careers.gov.je) forms part of the roll out of Connect People – Talent Acquisition, which aims to streamline and enhance the talent acquisition process through technological solutions. The technology for building the careers site is included as a standard component in the broader implementation of the Talent Acquisition Connect People platform. As a result, the necessary technology and tools to create this site were already provided within the standard package of the Connect People – Talent Acquisition module, and its development to date has not incurred any additional costs.

B

The careers site has been set up and is being maintained internally by Government of Jersey employees who work within the People Services team.

C

The development and launch of the site forms part of the Talent Acquisition release in the Connect People project. In January, the Talent Acquisition release within Connect People was launched to a few departments within the Government of Jersey. Over the period of January to April 2024, as part of a phased roll out, more departments and hiring managers across the organisation transitioned to the new system. From 22 April 2024 all new vacant positions were being raised and posted through the new system, Talent Acquisition.

Due to jobs being raised through Talent Acquisition, postings then became available and live on the new careers site. The new site was not utilised fully until the placing of new job requisitions on the old recruitment system (TalentLink) ceased in late April 2024.

D

The site is still very new, and it is too early to gather meaningful data, however in the future, the success of the site will be informed by the following data sets: users visiting the careers.gov.je site; search engine searches and site placement on Google search returns; candidate applications and user experience feedback.

E

The average number of applicants per role since the site went live is 4.44.
