During the following time periods was the blood given to patients for blood transfusions exclusively obtained from the NHS? If not where else was it obtained from?
- 1950-1959
- 1960-1969
- 1970-1979
- 1980-1990
Response
The Blood Safety and Quality Regulations 2005 requires the storage of records for 30 years. Information is not available for the supply of all blood transfusion products for the time periods in question. Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
Records available for the last 30 years detail that blood has been procured from the NHS and from the Jersey Blood Donor Service.
