Response

A

For Government of Jersey schools’ admissions, the primary address recorded is used for the allocation of school places. A Scheduled Public Authority is not required to create new datasets nor manipulate existing datasets in order to respond to Freedom of Information requests. Furthermore, the time necessary to identify and extract the data requested from the records that are available would exceed the timescales prescribed in the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014. Therefore, Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

B

The Department has determined that to provide the figures fewer than five would likely breach the privacy of individuals therefore disclosure control has been applied under Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) 2011 Law.

C

No appeals have been recorded due to one of the parents not being in the catchment area in relation to children starting school this September 2024.
