Given the changes to driving licences coming on October, please advise:
A
How many driving licences have currently been issued?
B
How many vehicles of the new Group 2 category are currently registered?
C
Have the GP surgeries been contacted to ensure there is capacity for the number of medical appointments required for renewals?

The information requested is not held by the Government of Jersey, therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies, however, it may be held by the parishes so you might wish to send your information request in writing to:

The Government of Jersey does not maintain a list of vehicles broken down by group 1 or group 2, therefore, the requested information is not held, and Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
The DVS registration system is not configured in a way that will allow the extraction of the information requested. However, information regarding registered vehicles is exempt under Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 as the information is accessible on the Government of Jersey’s website linked below:

Once downloaded, the whole spreadsheet can be filtered to allow the extraction of the specific information required.
Using the search term ‘Registered Vehicles’ on the open data home page will enable access to the information requested together with any future updates.

The Primary Care Board have been notified regarding the changes to driving licences, and have circulated the information to all GP surgeries, however, the Government of Jersey does not hold the information relating to capacity, therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Article 3 Meaning of “information held by a public authority”
For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –
(a) it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or
(b) it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
Article 23 Information accessible to applicant by other means
(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.
(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
