A

Please see Table 1 of the attached. The 2024 figure is year to date; therefore, this figure may increase.

Table attachment.pdf

By “Subsidies” it is assumed that it is meant the budget received from the Government of Jersey. In addition, please note:

  • Jersey Property Holdings provides these schools with Landlord Services
  • The Modernisation and Digital department provides IT Technical Support
  • Human Resources and Finance support is provided centrally
  • Children, Young People, Education and Skills ‘CYPES’ provides additional resources for specialist support, for example: Educational Psychology, Music Services and Inclusion support.

B

Please note that COVID19 costs for both 2020 and 2021 were allocated in one lump sum to the two schools as detailed below. No additional funding was allocated for COVID19 in 2024.

Please see the table below for the figures for 2022 and 2023.

 20222023
Jersey College for Girls £56,801
£12,460
Victoria College Jersey £53,913
£13,355

Please see the information below extract of a Written Question to the Minister of Treasury and Resources: WQ: 258/2024 (tabled 16/7/24) in relation to Beaulieu Convent Catholic School. This is the only arrangement with a private school.

(b) On inception of the 2019 loan the outstanding loan balance of £293,488 owed by the school was incorporated into the new loan.

(c) In line with P.26-2019, capital repayments on the 2019 loan are only due on completion of the full project, once the final drawdown on the loan facility is made.
