Request

A

Please provide an up to date list of the previous Freedom of Information request below:-

Consultancy grade doctors - February 2023 (FOI)

B

Please provide an online complaint form separate to Customer and Local Services (CLS) for any health complaints.

C

Please advise why is it difficult raising complaints with the health service given the number of medical complaints regarding rheumatology and so forth.

Response

A

An updated list of medical staff has recently been published to www.gov.je, available at the following link:

Medical Staff List - June 2024 (FOI)

As information is available elsewhere, Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Additions and deletions in the medical staffing establishment can be identified from review of the February 2023 staff list referenced and the most recent staffing list. A central record detailing these changes is not held. A Scheduled Public Authority is not required to create new datasets in order to respond to Freedom of Information requests, and Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

B

Details of how to lodge a complaint with Health and Community Services (HCS) directly, and an online form to submit feedback (including complaints), can be found on the Hospital Services webpage on www.gov.je at the following link:

Give feedback on health services and care (gov.je)

The HCS Feedback Team can arrange for face-to-face meetings to discuss complaints, should this be preferable.

HCS Feedback Team contact details are:

Telephone: 01534 442044

Email: feedback@health.gov.je

Feedback intended for HCS, which is submitted through the central Government of Jersey online form, is forwarded to the Department.

C

The question is a request for comment. Freedom of Information is a mechanism to enable access to information held in recorded form by a Scheduled Public Authority, rather than to pose questions requiring comment or opinion. Therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Several options are available to submit feedback, as described in response to Question B. The stages and timeframes for handling complaints is explained in the Customer Feedback Policy, available on www.gov.je at the following link:
