Please disclosure copies or any policies and/or procedures that Identify what circumstances and/or criteria have been adopted in respect of the deployment of Forensic Collision Investigators by the States of Jersey Police Service following a serious injury and/or a fatal road traffic collision.

Response

The States of Jersey Police have adopted a severity-based assessment approach for front line officers when considering whether or not to request the deployment of a Forensic Collision Investigator. 

This application-based procedure enables a consistent approach to all serious injury or road traffic collision fatalities ensuring that all appropriate specialist support is considered as and when required.

BWV – Body Worn Video

A/E – Accident and Emergency department

MoPs – Members of the Public

D3/Delta 3 – Callsign for the Patrol Sergeant

SL500 – Breathalyser equipment

CSI – Crime Scene Investigator

HD – High Definition

OOH – Out of Hours
