How many students from La Passerelle School have been arrested by the police since September 2023? And how many times have students from the school been reported missing either by their parents or carers to the police?

Response

States of Jersey Police arrest or custody records are not held in a format that can filter/identify the accurate number of students that have been arrested. SOJP do not hold the information requested, therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Students from the school have been reported missing either by their parents or carers to the police 291 times between 1st September 2023 and 17th January 2025.

In interpreting the above, please note the following: -

  • this figure reflects the number of reports submitted, not individuals reported missing. One individual may be reported missing on several occasions.
  • this figure includes students who, whilst enrolled with the school, are reported missing both during and outside of school hours.
  • "carers” includes school staff
