How many subjects are taught by non specialists in secondary schools in each year group and listed by each school.

How many GCSE subjects are taught by non specialists in secondary schools listed by school.

It is accepted that teachers who are specialised in a discipline e.g. English or history degree holders with QTS will teach in that discipline. Else why would job adverts and descriptions request this "requirement" for a  "degree in the discipline". To narrow it down provide information only for KS4 teachers.

Which includes year 9 now (KS3) for some schools. Haute Vallee only I believe start GCSEs a year earlier. Although not a UK standard which Jersey intend to follow in many other respects like using iGCSE qualifications which are frowned upon.

Please list by secondary school the number of teachers who are teaching a subject they are not qualified in i.e. they are "non specialist" and hold a degree for.

Response

This information is not held in recorded format. To provide an answer to the request would require extraction and manipulation of data to produce new information.

A Scheduled Public Authority is not required to manipulate and create new data sets. It has been estimated that the cost of extracting the data would exceed the cost limit provisions set out in the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014. Therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Article applied

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –

(a)     it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or

(b)     it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
