Dear Freedom of Information Officer,

I am writing to formally request data under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act regarding the number of children from Jersey who required off-island hospital treatment in the UK. Specifically, I seek the following information:

The total number of individual children (aged 0-17 years, including premature babies) who received off-island medical treatment in the UK each year from 2018 to 2024.

The data should only count each child once per year and not include multiple trips for the same child within the same year.

If possible, I would appreciate the data broken down by year.

This information is being requested to better understand the scale of off-island medical needs for children in Jersey. If any part of my request is unclear or if there are any limitations in providing the data as specified, please let me know.

I look forward to your response within the statutory timeframe. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Kind regards,

Response

Annual figures for those aged under 18 years old receiving treatment in the U.K. are provided in the attached table, broken down by year, from 2018 to 2024:
