Request 694928847

5. How much money has been granted to Jersey Oyster since it has been operating/trading? What is the breakdown of how these funds have been allocated?

6. How much money has the rest of the oyster industry received?

7. What is the ratio of public money that has been granted to Jersey Oyster compared to the rest of the fishing industry, in the past 3, 5, 10, and 15 years?

Response

5. It is our understanding that Jersey Oyster has been trading since 1973. It is not possible to determine historic levels of grant funding to the business going back to the requested date.

During the last 5 years Jersey Oyster has received grant funding grants under the Marine Support Scheme.

The total paid to Jersey Oyster under the Marine Support Scheme to date is £87,086.

6. In the same period under the Marine Support Scheme, the rest of the oyster industry received £54,909.

7. This information is not held in recorded format. To provide an answer to the request would require extraction and manipulation of data to produce new information

A Scheduled Public Authority is not required to manipulate and create new data sets. It has been estimated that the cost of extracting the data would exceed the cost limit provisions set out in the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014. Therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
