Under the Freedom of Information Act, we would like to request some information from you as follows:
• Current statistics of Deaf people living in the borough, city or county across the UK as at today’s date;
• We would particularly like to know the total number of Deaf people;
• Of that total, how many are aged 18-50 years? and
• How many are under the age of 18?
• Please note that for the purposes of our research, ‘Deaf people’ refers to anyone who is deaf, hard of hearing, deaf with additional needs, and who uses British Sign Language to communicate.
Response
Population-level data is not held for the number of people who are deaf or have a hearing impairment in Jersey. Therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
