Which Government department spends the most money on taxis/cabs/private car transfers in Jersey, and how much is it?

Response

Using paid invoices over the last 24 months, Children, Young People, Educations and Skills is the department with the most money spent on Taxi’s/cabs/Private car transfers in Jersey, with a sum total value of £216,327.48.

Any taxi journeys purchased using a purchase card or claimed back through the expenses process are not included in these figures, due to the need to extract relevant data from a large number of records that would need to be searched manually. To retrieve and extract that additional information would take in excess of the 12.5 hours prescribed in the Freedom of Information regulations, and therefore Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied

Article applied

Article 16 - A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive

(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations.
