REPORT TO THE HOUSING MINISTER
ARCHIRONDEL COTTAGE AGREEMENT OF SALE
On 17th July 2007 the States approved P6.2007 The Social Housing Property Plan 2007 – 2016. This provided approval for the sale on the open market of a number of non-core properties which were owned by the Public of the Island and were in the stewardship of the Housing Department. Archirondel Cottage was included on the list of proposed sales which was ultimately agreed at Line 3.
The property had been valued in accordance with the approved valuation policy HD22 Valuation Policy for Sales, originally approved by the Housing Minister under MD-H-2007-0057. The valuation set is therefore valid until 15 April 2010.
The property was put out to Tender and an offer to purchase the said property Archirondel Cottage at £766,667.00 has been received from Dr Lisa Rumens nee Macey and Mr Ian Noel Rumens. This will be a cash purchase, there is no onward chain.
Recommendations
That the Minister,
1. Approve the sale of Archirondel Cottage for the sum of £766,667.00 Dr Lisa and Mr Ian Noel Rumens.
2. Accepts that the Jersey Electricity Company Limited, as Lessor of Archirondel Terminal Station, will be party to the contract, if necessary, to clarify the boundary between the said parties. There will no fees involved, each side to pay their own;
3. request that the Treasury & Resources Minister agree to the transaction under Standing Order 168 (2) (a) and that the following notification to the States in accordance with Standing Order 68 (3) to authorise the Greffier and Attorney General to pass the necessary contracts on behalf of the Public;
4. That in accordance with the States approval of P6.2007 the resultant funds are to be credited to HYR000.121010
