Report
The Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002 provides that there should be a Planning Applications Panel comprising three States members and that it will be chaired by an Assistant Minister, appointed by the Minister for Planning and Environment, with the agreement of the Chief Minister.
Since the appointment of the Deputy of Trinity as the Assistant Minister for Planning and Environment, she has chaired the Panel, and the Constable of St Saviour, as a reserve member, has filled the vacancy left by the retirement of the former Constable of St John, Mr Richard Dupré. I propose that the Constable of St Saviour be a full member of the Panel
The promotion to full member of the Constable of St Saviour and the resignation of the Constable of St Helier has created vacancies for the two reserve members of the Panel. I propose that Deputy S. Power of St Brelade and the Constable of Trinity fill these positions.
Nominations can only be made by the Minister. If the States rejects these nominations, the Minister must nominate another States member, and so on, until all the vacancies are filled. The Law provides that the period of membership of a Panel member is three years.

Minister for Planning and Environment
