The Visitor Economy Strategy sets out the long-term vision, goals and priorities that need to be addressed to achieve the continuing success of the tourism and hospitality sectors. The strategy has been developed by Government in partnership with industry and other stakeholders and sets the vision for Jersey “to be a globally recognised, sustainable and enriching destination that Islanders are proud to share”.
It also sets four goals:
- for securing the growth of a vibrant, sustainable, and productive visitor economy, grow export revenues and support the delivery of the Future Economy Programme and its goals
- for visibility, of growing international awareness of “Brand Jersey”, showcasing our unique and varied natural and cultural heritage
- for community, of securing a vibrant future for Jersey as a community, providing services and experiences that benefit Islanders and other sectors of the economy and contribute to making Jersey an attractive place to live, work and do business
- for environment, of ensuring all actions are guided by our environmental objectives, and to put sustainability and responsible tourism at the heart of our policies.
In addition to setting the vision, the strategy also defines the visitor economy, and all the businesses sectors which are part of its success. The strategy also contains 48 policy priorities, all placed under eight strategic objectives.
