Customer Service Centre closes temporarily and re-opens at Cyril Le Marquand House
The States Customer Service Centre, based at the Library, will close on 23 December 2005 and re-open in the Spring of 2006 in a purpose-built, ground floor facility at Cyril Le Marquand House.
The decision follows a successful pilot at the Library which showed that Islanders welcomed the opportunity to access States information and services from a single point of contact, either by phone, in person or via email.
Work is going on now at Cyril Le Marquand House to create the new Customer Service Centre. When it opens it will offer a broader and more comprehensive range of services, which will be added to over the coming year. Staff will provide advice and information over the phone, by email and in person, and most queries will be answered quickly and simply, without people having to visit or telephone several different States departments.
These services will be complemented by a new improved States website which will provide up to date information on States services in a more user-friendly way, as well as the services and information already available at Social Security.
In the period between closing the service at the Library and opening the new Customer Service Centre, people won’t be able to call in person to get information and advice, but they can still get help via email and by telephoning the existing Contact Centre telephone number (712712). They will also be able to contact departments directly in the usual way. Numbers for popular departments are listed on a leaflet being distributed to the public. Notices are also going up in the Library and at Cyril Le Marquand House advising people of the new arrangements.
These changes are part of a long term States aim to improve and simplify services for people in Jersey.
