Free lunchtime concerts at hospital

26 July 2013

A series of lunchtime concerts will take place in the chapel at Jersey General Hospital every Thursday in August.

The five concerts will feature a range of music, lasting from 1- 1.30pm, and those attending are encouraged to bring their sandwiches with them.

Hospital Chaplain Maureen Turner said admission to the concerts was free, with a retiring collection in aid of the Jersey Emergency Transfer Service.

“We’ll be providing some entertainment for our staff and visitors, giving them a chance to see the chapel, which many people may not have previously visited,” she said. “It’s also a chance to raise some funds for a very good cause.”

The full agenda is as follows:

Thursday 1 August Fountain Quartet -A string quartet coached by Gerard Le Feuvre – Light and popular classics
Thursday 8 August Koinonia Trio - Keyboard, flute and oboe – Classical and light music
Thursday 15 August Jane and James Horsfall Harp and Guitar – Reflective music
Thursday 22 August Alan Mollet Organ – Popular wedding melodies and hymns
Thursday 29 August Andrew Radley and Tracy Bromley Organ and flute – Classical and light music
