Support for young people at Christmas

23 December 2014

Parents and guardians are being reminded about the importance of supporting young people’s emotional health and well-being over the Christmas holidays.

The Head of Health Improvement, Martin Knight, has stressed both the importance of talking to young people and the support services which are available.

Mr Knight said “Talking is not really valued enough. It is important that we keep in touch with what is going on in our families and make the time to talk to each other about the issues that are important to us. It is a simple approach but it can keep us connected with the young people in our lives and help them stay positive and resilient to life’s challenges.”
