The Children’s Commissioner has met with a range of children and young people and visited six schools

An update on the Government's response to the IJCI's recommendations

The new sexual offences law sets out to provide protection to individuals of all genders, and, most particularly, aims to protect children and vulnerable adults in Jersey from abuse and exploitation and ensures that abusers can be appropriately punished.

It follows a case in the Royal Court which found that a person had died intestate or without a will after he was unable to sign his will as a result of paralysis of the hands.

The Charity Commissioner, John Mills CBE, said, “"I welcome this final step towards bringing the Charities Law into force.

This weekend, a live chat was launched on Facebook, through the Apptivism.je app, and in the first ten hours over 450 Facebook users responded.

He described giving evidence as ‘horrendous”, as he had to face cross-examination by his abuser, who chose to represent himself in court.
