The burst water main in Rouge Bouillon has now been repaired. However, there is damage to the road and authorities remain concerned about the affected building.
Roads:
Parts of Rouge Bouillon, La Pouquelaye and Clarendon Road will remain closed until at least 1:00pm tomorrow and Islanders are asked to continue to avoid the area.
Monitoring will take place tonight and again in the morning to ensure no significant movement has occurred with regards to the undermined building.
Residents:
Residents of neighbouring buildings can enter their homes. Jersey Water will be in contact to keep them updated.
Schools:
Schools will be open tomorrow. Parents are asked to walk wherever possible and to keep an eye out for updates direct from schools.
For Janvrin school, all parents are advised to park at Waitrose and walk via Drury Lane and College Gardens to drop off their children.
d’Auvergne parents are also asked to walk, if possible, or to drive via Lower King’s Cliff (opposite The Inn).
A further meeting will be held at 1pm tomorrow to determine next steps.
Jersey’s Emergency Planning team would like to thank Jersey Honorary Police, States of Jersey Police, Jersey Fire & Rescue, Infrastructure and Environment, CYPES, Janvrin School d’Auvergne School and Jersey Water, for their assistance.
