Traffic circulation update on Dumaresq Street, St Helier
From 11 November, a small part of Dumaresq Street from its junction with Hue Street
south (from Romerils) to its junction with Charing Cross, (back of the Premier Inn) will become
one-way in the direction towards Charing Cross, reversing its current flow.
Improving accessibility for Premier Inn guests
The reversal is designed to enhance access to the Premier Inn, particularly benefiting visitors
with limited mobility.
The new traffic pattern will allow taxis to drop guests off adjacent to the
hotel, enabling easier access for those who may require mobility assistance or supportive
equipment.
Enhanced accessibility measures in St Helier
This change is part of a broader initiative by Infrastructure and Environment to improve
accessibility for residents and visitors alike.
Constable Andy Jehan, Minister for Infrastructure, said:
"This traffic direction change supports accessibility and helps ensure all visitors, especially
those with mobility needs, feel welcome. We are committed to implementing measures that
enhance accessibility across the Island in response to feedback from visitors."
Infrastructure and Environment, in partnership with Customer and Local Services, thanks the
community for their patience and cooperation as these changes are introduced to improve the
accessibility and flow of St Helier.
