Government of Jersey Emergency Planning will hold a live major incident exercise, based at Elizabeth Terminal, on Tuesday 8th October.
Members of the Jersey Resilience Forum, including Ports of Jersey, Jersey Customs and Immigration Service and the emergency services, will be involved.
The exercise scenario will take place between 9:00-14:00 and involves testing the emergency response establishing a Survivor Reception Centre.
Members of the public should be reassured that the blue-light activity in the area will be due to this training exercise, and not an incident. There will also be volunteer actors serving in various roles, who may appear to be in distress or in need of medical attention.
The Terminal will close to the public at 08:30 and as no shipping movements are scheduled during the training exercise, passenger travel will not be disrupted.
