Further information

All AC 30 load banks with a square single-phase / off / 3-phase rotary selector switch fascia measuring 46 mm on each side. See arrowed switch and detail in picture ('affected load bank').

Description of hazard: The rotary phase-selection switch currently fitted to some versions of the Cressall AC30 portable load bank is not adequately rated to allow it to perform the full range of operations that the load bank can be used for.
When the AC30 is used at its full load capacity in single-phase mode (230 V, 15 kW, 63A), there is serious risk of the switch overheating, causing permanent damage to the unit, which in turn can present a potential fire safety hazard.

Should you believe that you have an affected load bank. When using your AC30 load bank DO NOT EXCEED 9 kW loading (i.e. a reading of 39A on the top row ammeter) when operating in 230 V single-phase mode.

Cressall will issue a returns number for each unit to be upgraded
pack the returning load bank ensuring the returns number is clearly visible on the outer packaging.

Contact Cressall to arrange collection at a date that is convenient to yourselves. Cressall will upgrade the rotary switch and arrange the return of the load bank.
