Visual Impairment Team
The Visual Impairment (VI) Team works together with school staff, parents and outside agencies to provide specialist educational support for children and young people from 0 to 19 years with a medically diagnosed visual impairment.
How to access this service
If you think your child is having difficulty with their vision, you should make an appointment with an Optician. If hospital assessments are then carried out, the VI team will be notified by the Orthoptists if additional support or monitoring is required in school and the appropriate referrals will be made.
You can also contact the Children and Families Hub.
