Text saying Jersey Putting Children First

Putting Children First is the Government of Jersey's top priority.

Putting Children First means that all children and young people will grow up safely, learn and achieve, live healthy lives and be listened to.

Everyone in Jersey has a role to play in the care and protection of children – from politicians to parishioners, teachers to police officers, family and friends to neighbours.

Children are everyone’s responsibility. And we want you to Pledge your support to Putting Children First to make Jersey the best place for children and young people to grow up.

The Government launched an eight-point Pledge to Put Children First in September 2018. The pledge holds Ministers, States Members and public service leaders to account for improving the care and upholding the rights of every child in the Island.

It is part of the Government’s response to the recommendations of the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry.

The Government is committed to learning lessons from the past and improving outcomes for our children and young people, both now and in the future. We will put in place world-class services for children.

If you agree that, as a Government and a community, we should Put Children First, you can show your support to the Pledge. You will help to build a child-friendly Jersey that has children, young people and families at its heart.
