About Plastic Free Jersey

Jersey is a certified Plastic Free Community. To gain this accreditation, local schools, businesses, community groups and the Government of Jersey had to meet the required objectives.

- use a reusable water bottle
- take your own cutlery and tupperware if you are eating out and about
- say no to straws
- look at plastic free alternatives for your home
- buy loose fruit and veg
- use refillable cleaning products
- use food containers rather than wrapping left overs in cling film
- shop in places that offer plastic free alternatives
- pick up plastic from the beach and country lanes when you are out
Business
To be a Plastic Free Jersey business you will need to remove at least 3 single-use plastic items. Ideally you will remove the waste stream completely.
If that's not possible you'll need to significantly reduced it or replaced with a sustainable alternative.
