There are various facilities you can use at La Collette to recycle or dispose of your commercial waste. The facility to use depends on the type of material you need to recycle or dispose of.
All companies where recycling is sent to have been checked to ensure that they are reputable. The materials are all made into new products to feed into the supply chain. This is applicable for all recycling through Parish and Government of Jersey collections.
Only contaminated material will be diverted for Energy Recovery.
Some recycling is collected using the same vehicle that collects general refuse. These loads are not mixed.
Recyclable rubble and hardcore materials
AAL Recycling Ltd operates the commercial recycling facility at La Collette for rubbles and other materials. They accept:
- clean stone
- sand
- concrete
- topsoil
- glass
You must have an account to dispose of your waste with AAL and they set the charges.

Non-recyclable builders' rubble (inert waste)
You can deliver non-recyclable builders' rubble to the inert waste site, including:
- roof tiles
- ceramics
- red bricks
- subsoil
- other non-recyclable builders' rubble
These materials must be clean and free from contamination so they can be recovered or used to reclaim land without risk of polluting the sea.
You must test and classify subsoils from larger developments before delivery.

Green garden waste, plasterboard and pallet boards
La Collette commercial green waste reception accepts your:
- green and garden waste
- plasterboard
- pallet boards
All waste must be free of contamination and pre-sorted.

Asbestos waste
All your asbestos wastes must be delivered to the Asbestos Reception and Disposal Facility (ARDF) at La Collette. It's an offense to deliver asbestos wastes to any other site.

Burnable and bulky waste
Take your burnable and bulky wastes to the Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) at La Collette.
Commercial recyclable items
There are bins next to the bulky waste hall where you can put up to 5 of each:
- electrical items
- TVs, computer monitors and laptops
If you have more than 5 of these items, deliver them to the Lower Yard at the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre between 8am and 1pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays.

Access
To use the Facility the business/company must be registered with the Facility along with each J registration needing access, any unregistered vehicles will not be allowed to use the site. If you have registered already as a business and wish to add or remove any vehicle registrations, please use the form below.
To complete the ERF registration form, you'll need your company's:
- name
- contact name
- address
- email address
- telephone number
- list of all vehicles requiring access including their make and number plate
You'll receive a confirmation by email once your application is authorised.

Metals recycling
EMR operates the metals recycling facility at La Collette. They accept items including:
- vehicles
- large appliances
- other scrap metals
Machine tracks are not accepted.

Healthcare waste
Take your clinical and healthcare waste to the Clinical Waste Incinerator (CWI). This facility destroys wastes from hospitals, dentists, nursing homes and vets including:
- used bandages and dressings
- medicines
- needles and syringes
If you're transporting these wastes for somebody else, you must be a
registered waste carrier. If you're transporting these wastes from your own business, you do not need to register.
