  • leaves
  • weeds and dead plants
  • Christmas trees

No thanks

  • food waste​
  • soil and rubble
  • harmful plants (Japanese knotweed, bracken, broad and curly leaf dock, ragwort, rhododendron, hemlock, and yew)
  • treated or processed wood
  • wooden posts or fencing
  • large stones
  • metals, plastics or glass
  • animal faeces or soiled bedding

How you can recycle green waste

  • separate any food waste, soil or rubble from your green waste
  • harmful plants must be disposed of using a different container at La Collette as they must be incinerated

How you can reduce or reuse green waste

  • most green waste items can be put into home compost
  • some green waste like grass cuttings can be used as mulch on vegetable beds and borders
