About the consultation
A review has been carried out and the Minister for Transport and Technical Services believes that significant change to the regulation of the taxi industry in Jersey is both desirable and necessary.
The Minister’s policy reform proposals focus on providing the appropriate service to the customer. He is proposing increased numbers of taxis in a single taxi system (combining rank taxis and private hire), with a harmonised system of capped tariffs for customers. To avoid unnecessary disruption to this important public service, these changes will be phased in and regularly reviewed to ensure that a positive impact on customer service is achieved.
The Minister would welcome your views on his Regulatory Reform proposals. These are summarised in the video (link below) and set out in detail in the report below.
