Proposed ACoP for safe operation of skip and hook loaders: consultation results

07 September 2018

A consultation on the proposal to introduce a new Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) covering the  ‘Safe operation of skip and hook loaders' has now been completed.

The consultation was conducted in two phases; an initial, targeted, consultation between August and December 2017 with all known commercial skip and hook loader operators in the Island and a wider public consultation which ran between 6 July and 9 August 2018.

The results showed unanimous agreement for the introduction of the ACoP, and supported the proposed structure and approach taken. The responses received during the consultation have been summarised in the consultation report and will be taken into account during the development of the final draft document.

A recommendation will be made to the Minister to formally approve the ACoP.
