Damage to live underground electrical cables is increasing, as identified by the number of damage reports notified to the Inspectorate in 2015.

Guidance for work in the vicinity of underground cables and other utilities is available in the article on the increase in underground cable damage and the recently revised ‘yellow booklet’.
