I would like information regarding the appointment of curator to my dear and old friend [name redacted]

I would like to know when the appointment was made, under what circumstances, the supporting evidence that was put forward to justify it, and the name and contact details of the curator.

[Name redacted] is currently residing at [address redacted] 

If there are issues of confidentiality, I am sure that permission to disclose would be given by [name and telephone number redacted].

Response

The basic details of a curatorship are publicly available at the Public Registry. Searches may be undertaken for free by anyone attending at the Registry; alternatively searches may be made by Public Registry staff for a charge.

Because this information is already publicly available it is absolutely exempt information under Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 and we are not obliged to supply it under that law. However, in this case we have checked in the Public Registry and have found no records of any curatorship for the particular individual.

Please note that sensitive personal information such as evidence supporting an application for appointment of a curator is not available for public search.
