B
How many places are available in the town catchment area (states nurseries only) and how these will be allocated.
Response
A
The Education Department allocates spaces for pre-school education on an islandwide basis and is unable to provide data on the predicted number of children requiring pre-school education in the town catchment area.
Catchment area is not part of the allocation criteria. The majority of places are allocated based on date of application and a parent can apply to any nursery. Therefore, the Education Department is unable to provide data on the predicted number of children requiring pre-school education in the town catchment area.
