The conditions of a controlled rank taxi are as follows:
2 | 80% of work must be from prescribed taxi-cab ranks |
6 | Any other driver providing a taxicab service must be employed by the licence holder (Article 28 Motor Traffic (Jersey) Law 1935) be issued with an employment contract and a copy sent to DVS |
19 | Minimum mileage to be covered is 14,000 per year |
26 | No third party commercial advertising to be displayed |
27 | Plate is solely for the use of the licence holder |
28 | Radio or digital medium communication, whether directly or automatically, must be fitted and operational in the vehicle |
31 | Table of fares to be kept fixed in the cab |
40 | The approved roof sign is fitted |
41 | The approved taxi meter is fitted, sealed and maintained |
42 | The driving of a taxi-cab should be the main employment/income of the licence holder |
44 | The licence holder and any employee must adhere to the Code of Conduct at all times |
45 | The licence holder is expected to provide an efficient and timely service at the ports |
