What extra security measures will be taken when we have a hotel in the heart of St Helier? I believe this should be addressed ASAP we don’t want to leave ourselves open to a terror attack this question is not scaremongering but common sense
Response
Plans and policies to deal with such an incident would be the responsibility of Special Branch from the States of Jersey Police. In accordance with the College of Policing Authorized Professional Practice, the States of Jersey Police has a full range of options to deal with firearms incidents in the Island.
Plans that have been written to deal with any form of terrorism are highly sensitive and therefore not open to the public domain. It is not normal practice to comment on the specifics of the States of Jersey Police’s operational capability.
For emergency situations, the Emergency Measures Plan and other such plans can be found on the States of Jersey website.
