Theft from Police (FOI)

Information surrounding total cost of lost items is not held. Officers do lose items occasionally, hat, gloves, torches and these are replaced. The stores officer advises this is a rare occurrence. Items are also replaced due to wear and tear or officers returning to uniform duties after a period of plain clothes duties. There is no central record of which items are replaced because of loss.
