The policy for the Hospital is in development.

The Prison Service will normally classify an individual in accordance with the legally recognised gender but each case is considered on an individual basis. While the person will be referred to by their chosen name and gender, their safety and well-being and the risks he or she may face in a prison environment will be assessed before a decision is made in regard to his or her placement in the prison.

Both the Hospital and Prison fully subscribe to the States of Jersey Equality and Diversity policy, which applies to all employees.
