When sending patients to Southampton for treatment which requires an overnight(s) stay in Southampton, what is or was the cost of putting two adults in Jury's Inn for a week in separate rooms compared to putting two adults in the shared apartment in the Ocean Village Marina complex for one week?

The Health and Social Services Department (HSSD) has leased properties in their entirety for one calendar year. The costing for Ocean Village has been provided at an assumed occupancy of 100% for a given year however we do not believe this figure is attainable. As a result the actual cost to HSSD in any scenario will vary in line with occupancy. For example if occupancy across all the flats over the course of a year is 70% the actual cost to HSSD for a given week rises to £933.4 (£718 x 1.3).

Over the course of a year HSSD expects the costs of both schemes to be broadly similar to each other.
