The latest confirmed costs are to the end of February 2017 and are available at the following link:

Total costs as at that date were £21,632,184.

Total expenditure on lawyers’ fees (acting for the Inquiry Panel, States departments, witnesses and interested parties) to the end of February 2017 was £13,769,805.

The figure in the answer to (B) above is the total for a number of firms of lawyers. The individual rates are considered exempt from disclosure under Article 33 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011. The Authority considers that the potential damage to the commercial interests of the authority and the firms outweighs the potential public interest in disclosure.

(a) it constitutes a trade secret; or
(b) its disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of a person (including the scheduled public authority holding the information).
