Request

Please could you supply me with a list of all fire hydrants for which you have coverage? I understand that all Fire and Rescue services have access to a list of hydrant locations.

Further to this, I would like to know the following for all fire hydrants in your administrative region:

A

Location in Easting and Northing coordinates

B

Please give an indication as to whether the fire hydrant is still in use

C

Responsible water supplier

Response

The requested information that the Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (JFRS) holds is attached below:

Hydrants locations

The document shows decommissioned hydrants by way of colour coding (see explanation below).

A

Information included is for every recorded hydrant. The location is shown in terms of road names and position, rather than as requested latitude and longitude coordinates as we do not hold this information.

B

The hydrant listed is still in use unless marked in red and usually accompanied by the phrase 'decommissioned'. If it is marked in yellow / amber it is merely of note to our operational support technician who may inspect the site due to previous issues such as hedge, undergrowth, and silt build up, as examples.

C

The responsible water supplier to all Jersey hydrants is Jersey Water:
