What happens if a student is unable to afford a field trip, is there a grant to cover, if so how much per year has this cost? Or are they able to complete their course by doing it on Island?

Hautlieu School
All course requirements can be completed without any off-island field trip although it is advised that some can be useful. Trips, therefore, are offered but not obligatory. The Head teacher will consider any requests for financial support and this is based on individual need. With the introduction of a trial on Jersey Premium at Key Stage 5, this will also be factored into how we might support a student.
Jersey College for Girls
Although some of the trips JCG offer are highly advisable, no trip is obligatory. JCG will always fulfil the requirements of a student’s studies in another way if necessary. The trips offer a way to enhance a student’s understanding of a subject.
The following information about financial assistance can be found on the Jersey College for Girls Website
Victoria College
Our A Level courses do not specify that an off-Island trip is required as part of the study of that subject. However, we do offer a number of A Level off-Island trips that supplement and complement our students’ A Level studies.
If a student is unable to afford a field trip, there is no grant available but a Trust is in place to which applications can be made for financial support.
C
Hautlieu School
Details of trips that may be available to A level students are not included in Hautlieu School’s prospectus as no student is required to go on any trips to fulfil their A level studies.
Jersey College for Girls
We do state which trips are likely to be available in our Sixth Form Prospectus under each subject. However, the costs are not included.
The approximate cost and normal offering of trips is included within the calendar on the Jersey College for Girls Website.
Victoria College
Our Sixth Form prospectus does not carry cost information regarding A Level field trips, although some subjects indicate where a trip may be offered to enhance A Level studies.

The cost of staff on A level field trips is spread across the cost of all the students travelling. The number of staff accompanying any trip has to follow the correct ratios as per the Education Health and Safety guidelines.
