Request

A

How many parking fines have been issues in the last 90 day period?

B

How many parking fines have been issues in the same 90 day period for the previous year?

C

How many parking fines were levied against cars using the PayByPhone app in this last 90 day period?

D

Of the parking fines levied against those using PayByPhone app in the last 90 day period were for paying for parking but for the wrong car?

E

Please include the breakdown of all other reasons for fines for those levied against those using PayByPhone in the same 90 period if that data is easily retrievable which I assume it is as coded reasons.

Response

A

Tickets issued in the three months up to and including 1 June 2018 are: 3,609 in car parks and 731 in Sand Street – total 4,340;

B

Tickets issued in the same period 2017 are: 2,875 in car parks and 701 in Sand Street – total 3,576

Please note that the total number of tickets issued during this period would have been reduced due to the introduction and training of three new staff that started in March 2017 and who were fully operational during 2018, rather than any other reason.

C

Information not held. There is no method of identifying which of the vehicles that were issued parking fines had used the PaybyPhone App.

D

Information not held. There is no such offence when a parking fine is issued.

E

Information not held. There is no method of identifying which vehicles had committed other offences such as parking outside a marked bay etc. whilst also using the PaybyPhone App rather than paycards or season tickets.

PaybyPhone has also been operating for on-street locations during this period but that data will have to be obtained from the Parish of St Helier as the data owner.
