Legal tender coinage issued in Jersey since 2000 (FOI)

​Request

Please provide details of all coinage issued by Jersey since 1 January 2000. Only include coins that are legal tender, and issued at face value. For each issue provide date of issue, the number of coins minted, the type of metal, the weight, and the diameter in mm. Also provide the cost of purchasing each issue from the manufacturer.

A table with the information requested is given below.

Please note that there are years when certain coinage is not purchased as this is only done when it is required. The Treasury and Resources Department’s retention schedule for financial data was 6 years until January 2015 when it was extended to 10 years. Therefore the department does not hold purchase costs prior to 2009.

Justification

Article 10 Obligation of scheduled public authority to confirm or deny holding information

(1) Subject to paragraph (2), if:

(a) a person makes a request for information to a scheduled public authority; and

(b) the authority does not hold the information,
it must inform the applicant accordingly.
