A search for descriptions of ‘Septic’ or ‘Sepsis’ in the ICD-10 code table shows the following associated Level 4 ICD-10 codes:

Of these codes only two appear as a final classification of death (i.e. have been ultimately attributed as the cause of death) of Jersey residents over the period 2015-2017: A403 (sepsis due to Streptococcus pnueumoniae) and A419 (Sepsis, unspecified organism).

See the table below for a breakdown of the deaths by these codes, rounded to the nearest five. Where numbers are less than five the exact figure is not provided as it is considered this could lead to the identification of individuals.
